OK Aus, some new photos
The Anniversary weekend included some fine weather ( matching the wedding weekend ) and much work in the garden ( unlike the wedding weekend ). D had already been digging and lopping at the back and this carried on for the Sunday and Monday. P was clearing flower beds, I lopped some large bushes down and D Dug / sledged / battered his way through what was the pond.
The day did include some "E Scones" with cream and Jam ( photos below ),  you cant help him roll the dough though....
Pizza for dinner, but we were all too tired to walk up the hill, so P and C brought it down to the house and we had a glass of champagne, of course.
Tuesday they went out and bought some mirrors and also a new bed for them. This means that guests will not have to use the Victorian Air Bed. The new one for C&D will be a Super King, but no doubt E will find a way to fill the new space.
They love their house and are taking great care with the items they choose for the furnishings et al.
A Happy home

Some jungle cleared at the back of the house. The mega vine turns out to be a Wisteria

The pile of rocks and plant debris. Reckon D shifted a couple of tonnes

What was the pond and is now a hole. You might just see what was a pipe for a fountain. On Monday I took down some of the hanging ivy from the tree behind + P lopped the bush at the back, on the right
Wysteria

What was a shed is now exposed

The garden progresses
D&P cleared this on Monday. D hacked out a large Weigela bush

E inspecting Plant pots

The Mega vine. This will take more than loppers

Digging done - Playtime

I wonder if Daddy noticed that I bounced this off his head...

Kicking around on Wednesday - I am only allowed a few kicks
whatever you say Mr E, it's pre school tomorrow

Thursday and packing up to head home. Snuck on the drive - so a Merc does fit
Basically this car is used to transport furniture and curtains.and the only reason I get in, is that it needs a driver. In here somewhere, there is a Lloyd Loom chair and Ottoman for refurbishment and some upholstery work.

  1. Love the photos, such a pleasure to see the transformation taking place in the garden. Lot larger than first impressions. I can see what a lovely space it will be after all the hard work. That wisteria is truly frightening.

  2. Thanks Grandad, really captures it for us. Looks like some great spaces for E and D looks right at home on the shovel. We can see many, many happy hours in that garden for everyone. Glad the Merc is coming in handy. Has D located the nearest hardware store, always essential and I am sure that E will enjoy! Rob

  3. Endorse all that Rob and Ros say Mal. The photos really made us feel we were there. Little E wears that hat with style. That was a big job for D removing that pond. Talk soon. Rod
